Launch of Undergraduate Research Hub

The Office of the Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education has recently launched the Undergraduate Research Hub. Along with OVPIUE, the project was sponsored by the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation, the Office of the Vice-Provost, Strategic Enrolment Management and the Office of the Vice-Provost, Students.

The Undergraduate Research Hub underscores the value U of T places on undergraduate research. It is designed to support students, faculty, staff and librarians by highlighting research opportunities and pathways to accessing them. Learn more about the new Hub in the PDAD&C Memo.

We encourage you to share the Undergraduate Research Hub with students, faculty, staff and librarians as well as incorporating the Hub into existing resources. If your unit would like a demonstration of features on the Hub, please reach out to vp.iue@utoronto.ca.

Fellowship activities include peer-to-peer networking, learning and mentorship, engagement with CEL/R scholarship and hands-on course development support. Successful applicants are eligible to apply to a CEL course and professional development fund.

Generative AI

New Institutional Website on Artificial Intelligence

Microsoft Copilot Now Available for U of T Students

Recognizing that some faculty would like to incorporate AI assistants into their courses, Microsoft Copilot has now been made available to students. Once logged into your U of T account, the protected version of Microsoft Copilot does not collect information from users’ prompts for training purposes and therefore provides a more secure environment to students, faculty, librarians, and staff. Instructors are encouraged to become familiar with this tool and to talk to your students about generative AI and how it should and should not be used in their class.
