Updated Quercus Data Insights Winter 2025 Data: Inform Your Course Planning through Student Activity
The University's Learning Analytics Initiative offers a series of dashboards designed to visualize course-level student activity data from Quercus (“Quercus Data Insights”). These dashboards provide instructors with valuable insights into student engagement and behaviour in their courses. Working with students: experiential learning avenues
As an instructor or staff member at the University of Toronto, you have access to a range of experiential learning avenues that will allow you to engage students in advancing your own work, while providing students with meaningful learning experiences. These avenues may be paid or unpaid, and may take place within curricular or co-curricular settings. A new article on the Experiential Learning Hub has been published to provide guidance for those interested in exploring these opportunities.

Call for Applications: Community-Engaged Learning Faculty Fellowship Program
The CCP seeks applications for its Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) Faculty Fellowship Program. The Fellowship recognizes and supports innovative instructors who plan to develop new, or enhance existing, CEL courses. The Fellowship provides an opportunity for pedagogical development and recognizes educational leadership through a model that partners emerging CEL instructors with senior fellows who have demonstrated excellence in CEL and in supporting colleagues newer to CEL.

The hope is that it will help people stay abreast of emerging changes that will potentially impact work at the institution. 2024 LEAF+ Equitable and Inclusive Teaching
At the CTSI Teaching & Learning Symposium earlier this month, the OVPIUE co-hosted a Teaching Dialogue session on Engaging Students in Advancing Equitable and Inclusive Teaching that featured 5 LEAF+ projects. This session focused on how instructors engaged students to foster student-centered innovation while advancing equitable and inclusive teaching objectives. We would like to express our gratitude to our faculty speakers: Jessica Dere, Judith Poë, Olivier St-Cyr, Rebecca Laposa, and Sanja Hinić-Frlog.

OVPIUE Team Update

Welcome Kevin Nitièma!
|
We are pleased to welcome Kevin Nitièma to the OVPIUE as a Data Analyst, Student Success. Kevin brings a multidisciplinary background in educational analytics, student engagement and program design. Prior to joining the OVPIUE, his work focused on residence curriculum assessment and evaluation, where he led a team of student staff who applied design thinking frameworks and data-driven strategies to enhance engagement and assess student learning outcomes. In his current role, Kevin supports the analysis and reporting of student success metrics and contributes to advancing data-informed innovations across the undergraduate experience. Please join us in welcoming Kevin to the team.
