Description

The award is intended to recognize outstanding teaching in Experiential Learning (EL) at the undergraduate and/or graduate level at UTSC. Experiential Learning is defined as: “a philosophy that informs many methodologies in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values, and 2 develop people’s capacity to contribute to their communities.” (Association for Experiential Education).
The University of Toronto recognizes and values 16 types of curricular and co-curricular EL. This award is given for any of the types that are credit bearing course-based EL which include Community Engaged Learning, Work Integrated learning, Advanced Design, Advanced Laboratory, Field Experience, Entrepreneurship, International Experiences, Land-Based Education, Organization Partnered Project, Research Intensive, Simulated Work Experience, and Academic Internship.

Eligibility

  1. This award has been established for full-time Full, Associate, and Assistant Professors (tenure and teaching streams), part-time Professors and CLTAs, and Sessional Instructors.
