Bay View Alliance Session on Flexible Learning

The Bay View Alliance is hosting a community conversation on Flexible Learning: Assessing Where We Are and Thinking Forward to Next Steps. This conversation will be hosted Thursday November 18, 2021 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM ET via Zoom (link below).

Flexible Learning is a broad term with differing interpretations depending on institutional context.  In this Community Conversation, we will explore what our BVA member campuses mean by Flexible Learning and assess the status of this approach on our campuses. We then will discuss a university-wide initiative at UMass Amherst, including a conceptualization of Flexible Learning, strategic plan, and action/implementation steps. Finally, we will engage in forward thinking, especially on how BVA might leverage a multi-campus, collaborative Flexible Learning project.

Facilitated by:

Claire Hamilton, Associate Provost and Director, Center for Teaching & Learning; Associate Professor, College of Education

Jim Kurose, Associate Chancellor, Partnerships and Innovation; Distinguished University Professor, College of Information and Computer Science

Mary Deane Sorcinelli, Senior Fellow, Center for Teaching & Learning; Professor Emeritus, College of Education.
