Student Advisory Committee

The Office of the Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education (OVPIUE) supports a range of new and ongoing initiatives to enhance the quality of the undergraduate student learning experience. Our office undertakes this work by designing, assessing and supporting impactful, evidence-based and technology-enabled teaching and learning initiatives across the University of Toronto.

The Student Advisory Committee to the OVPIUE aims to provide advice and feedback to inform and support the design and implementation of institutional initiatives focused on enhancing the undergraduate academic learning experience. The focus of the Committee will be to seek students’ unique insights and design thinking skills on a range of institutional academic priorities related to undergraduate education.  In 2023, the Student Advisory Committee will be looking at issues related to undergraduate research.

As a member of the Student Advisory Committee, students will have the opportunity to represent their peers and engage in an institution-wide conversation about undergraduate education. Students will gain insight into the diversity of perspectives and how they inform academic programming and curricular initiatives at the University.

Who are the members of the Student Advisory Committee?

The 10 members of the Student Advisory Committee are current students from each of the first-entry undergraduate divisions across the University: Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Faculty of Arts and Science, Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Faculty of Music, John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, University of Toronto Mississauga, and University of Toronto Scarborough.
