Recipients will be selected by a peer review process adjudicated by the IHPME Awards Committee. Performance in the following areas of teaching/mentoring will be considered as appropriate for each award:
- Dean’s Strategic Fund

- Early Career Teaching Award
Evidence of outstanding performance in one or more of the above categories will be derived from a number of different sources including: Testimonial letters from students, alumni, fellow faculty members, or administrators; Results of teaching evaluations; Objective measures of student learning; A statement outlining the contributions made to teaching.
- Sustained Excellence in Teaching Award
Recognizing a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in teaching over the course of at least 15 years.
- Faculty Teaching Award

The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work values excellence in teaching and contributions to its educational programs through curriculum development, innovation, and research on education. A biannual award may be awarded to teaching faculty members, to recognize outstanding contributions to education through any combination of the following:
- Pedagogical Research Grant
Faculty with full-time continuing status appointments (tenure/teaching stream) who are teaching in the Faculty of Arts & Science can apply for a Pedagogical Research Grant to support inquiry and research into their teaching, pedagogical approaches or student learning; and/or dissemination of their pedagogical research findings.
